For the first time since I myself eat again. I do not know if that ABN, but what I trying to say is: I've eaten too much. This afternoon we arrived at the Peace Avenue, near our hostel, snack on. It was advertised as "Traditional Mongolian fast food restaurant, fast food but the food was there (by our standards), certainly not.
Unfamiliar with local customs and portion sizes, we both decided to order a dish along with a number of small side dishes. Judica chose fried chicken legs and I went to the house specialty. We just thought we would get some meat and re-ordering of some baked potatoes and a boiled egg (does anyone here) would be prudent. That was a tasty mistake.
A minute or 10 after we had passed our wishes, our table set with bowls, platters and bowls. Most dishes came to us after a few meals in the ger familiar: 5, boiled dumplings with sheep meat, fried dumplings with mutton, boiled mutton ribs and fried flatbread. It all looked very appetizing, but it was too much! And then have dinner Judica d'r: three fried chicken legs with rice!
To our best of the resources we have eaten and proudly revealed that the "food frenzie" had affected the scales properly. Similarly Well we have almost half of all nice to leave.
This meal, and all the dishes in the tent, we have learned that Mongolians traditionally and fatty foods. And they love sheep! I wonder whether this cuisine in the Netherlands would do well, but for us it was at any rate an experience. The mutton was in the beginning getting used to, not least also because of its color and texture, but there are certainly very tasty soups and dumplings from them for cooking.
Oh, and the ultimate: the end of this sheep came into orgy. We were kindly invited to the sum of 13,000 Tugrik counting down. Converted into our home currency would amount to € 6.50. And that was including two half liters of tea (or 10 cents) and a large plate baked potatoes. Unbelievable. What remains now is a night uitbuiken. My intestines are clearly not all that fat sheep meat used. Poehee ...
