Back in Hanoi ... and almost immediately turn away

10. We are in a cave

Yesterday afternoon we took our trip mates came back in Hanoi. The two Australian girls went to their hotel and the Israeli couple came with us and another couple NLse it. Rooms enough and after arrival, we first have perched on our roof for a delicious beer. It's funny, you meet people and pulls out a few days very intensively and that creates an instant bond. Not a band that never breaks, but we have seen along the Ha Long Bay.

After everyone had been frost OPZ OEK we went to something "authenticity," to eat. It was a small stall where another Vietnamese guest ordered for us. That goes along the lines of "do only 2 chicken, 2 beef dishes, 1 dish pork, vegetables and rice. Most Vietnamese in Hanoi on the street seem to eat, it feels like it IIG. These are not restaurants but mini small plastic stools (if you're lucky a chair) and small plastic tables, all in children's size. The food came and the table was overloaded. So nice we had not eaten in Vietnam. Not sharp, spicy and delicious as varied. Smullen so. The rest of the avodn is spent on the rooftop to still to enjoy.

This morning the alarm went off. We had booked a bus to Ninh Binh. A village two hours drive from Hanoi to the south which has a beautiful setting. We had paid $ 5 per person, here a decent amount so that we would go with a tour bus, the Israelis went along. Then comes a guy who our 'collecting' and says that we need the taxi steps that we go to the bus station and there for the bus tickets are purchased. Not what we had agreed, namely that tickets cost less than 2 euros per person.

Our traveling companion as we say Nohar has her on her teeth and said clearly, no, if we continue with the tour bus or we get our money back. We zijnt eruggelopen to the hotel and have indicated that this was not the agreement. The manager of the tour bus company came later to help us, but we were of course all that business Sat The guys that we wanted to put on a taxi just had the tour booked full and we thought we could put on a bus and the rest of eht money into his own pocket to stabbing. All tour buses were by that time the city has been out. Uitiendelijk we have sought and received our money back. The guys from our hotel were so kind to help us arrange a reliable taxi to the bus station where we 45000 dong per person (less than 2 euros) itself bought tickets.

Bus stations are not comparable, there are no buses with numbers or something. The destinations are indicated, but there is at what you should have. At the moment we walked out we were surrounded by people who wanted to get us into their bus, after half a lap around the park, we own a tipsy woman and her husband helped us. The bus was fine and within 2 hours we were in Ninh Binh.

In the bus was another Englishman who temporarily lives with Vietnamese girlfriend on the way to Ninh Binh. So now we're back with 6 men and even have an interpreter :) .

The rest of the day we had dinner and we are now just returned from a trip to a kind of National Nature Reserve where we rowed around 2 hours. Those women who have become heavy! It was a tourist attraction, but especially for the Vietnamese themselves. As we enter, we photographed 100 times. The trip run along high mountains and through various caves, it was ontettend nice and relaxing. At the end we still have a couple of times a rowing contest held with other boats and Nohar ... and I have been standing on the boat a "serenade" which brought the Vietnamese were quite the end. A delicious arrival in Ninh Binh and the prospect of dinner makes me so happy!

A bit Hannoying and 'a Long Bay

18. Everywhere monkeys

Wow, that was me a few special days. We were announced as a three-day trip to Ha Long Bay. It was also equally necessary, because Hanoi is a violent city. I could see the rest of the float on a bay frankly even use. Our trip there was in Ha Long City on a boat (a junk, of course) to switch and from there the famous bay of Ha Long to sail (according to legend, a dragon of the sea has slipped and a very special track islets of sharp left). On the boat we would stay for the next day some crazy things and then at night in a hotel on an island to sleep.

Two Dutch who we are in the ho (s) tel had met went along on the trip, so that was fun right away. In the bus and on the boat we met two other couples: a (young) couple from Israel and two ladies from tropical Australia. Eight of them we had great fun. Incidentally, the tour itself was thick even worth it.

The Ha Long Bay is incredible. He was a little foggy, but then we were already prepared for them by previous visitors. The islands are formed and capricious stabbing as silly obstacles from the sea. Very special, especially from a small boat. Our cabins were on the boat with all luxury to be so well on that front, we came with our nose in the butter. After an impressive yet the bay we were presented with a special cave. As a kind of big mouth formed a special space in the firmament of a mountain. Inside, with beautiful lighting and the interplay of stalachtieten mieten brought to attention. With some imagination you could in some points of the strange creatures and little people recognize. Incidentally sommigge projections also showed very well as (how prosaic) falussen indicate. It was all in all a wonderful interplay of breath, oh's and ah's and giggles.

After a night on the boat, which was heralded with karaoke, we woke up in the fairytale world of darkness the day before we had to forget. Beautiful. A further breakfast we headed toward the island of Cat Ba, which half has been declared a national park. Please check into our hotel there (the eleventh floor, what a view!) And we could move toward our climbing walk in the park. Through a kind of semi-jungle we climbed towards a rusty tower high on the mountain. Alone he stood, with no space for stalls, benches or other tourist trappings. Very pure and full of rust. The sign "up to 5 people at once" gave little confidence. Without squeak of the tower (but with a few plaintive sounds of yours truly) was the view reached. Beautiful all.

In the afternoon, then a boat trip to Monkey Island. The name made me (and others) directly to a famous computer game of the late nineties thinking. The island was not too large and mainly from a beach and inaccessible rocks to exist. Oh, and of course monkeys. Cute, but decent spicy critters who did not flinch an annoying tourist on the beach chasing. The guide (actually called, but because of its length usually called Minivan) warned us that too close to the monkeys sometimes on a visit to the hospital would be faced. Some caution was therefore required, but after some mutual Werder dignities to have exchanged, man and ape came increasingly closer to one another. The vicissitudes existed consisted mainly of foods ...

The night on Cat Ba island was a happy mixture of rice with chopsticks and beer with a chair massage. Oh, and because of an international power-saving action, there was an hour candlelight. Very nice all. With a sad feeling we took the last morning slowly achscheid of the island, the bay and our new friends. A wonderful adventure full of romantic caves, splash around in kayaks, chatting with Jan-and-everybody and laughter ...
