Jungle tour ...

10. Oh, and this is indeed a very large department store

After yesterday dressed in a low this morning we decided to walk shorts and sandals to do. Everything here is well maintained and paved, why should we?

After a new breakfast (a sandwich with Kaya, sort of paste of egg and coconut, very nice) on the bus. After a freezing bus journey (the air is so high that Judica dressing when the bus goes) we arrive at the entrance of the national park. We write our (it offers hope that they keep track of who's in the park) and start the hike.

Soon we come to the conclusion that the beautiful walkway that leads us into the park is not the whole park passes. After one kilometer, the path is impassable, and assigns to drag slipper but we decide to reverse. Stupid, we are now anyway dressed in jungle.

Once back at the entrance to the park "discovering" We have a small visitor center with a few models, stuffed animals and trendy computer presentations. Fun and perhaps a surrogate for the things we have not seen in the park.

By the scorching heat, but we walk back a little, towards the seafront. Or at least that's what we think. The walk proved to be much longer than expected and after a bit of walking along the road and the first raindrops have collected, we decide not to take the bus. On the beach promenade are all luxurious, expensive resorts, restaurants and glossy hotels peppery. We walk, now all that hungry, passing many overprijsd restaurant, until we hope to discern the horizon: a KFC!

Kentucky Fried Chicken does not count as indigenous food, so we do (more or less the form), just do our best to find a little Malay. To our delight, we found a KFC near the food court. For less than four ringgit per person we both get a delicious rice dish: chicken with spicy and Michael Judica nasi. Nice and certainly better than a pot of fat kipkluiven from the states.

Many beach we see the rest of the afternoon anymore. The weather has become dull and what we decide to go back into town. Once we (via a detour or two) back at the hotel arrive it's already five hours. We have a rest and refresh us, and then the evening in Little India to spend.

In Little India, or at least the four streets inhabited by Indians, it's a great festive bunch. Stalls outside air incense, Indian music, very nice. We eat a pancake sandwich with chicken and egg, and later down at a large iron Tandoori restaurant. There we eat (not cutlery, only with the hands) some naan bread with chicken. Very nice!

Tomorrow we travel to Cameron Highlands. At six o'clock in the morning that is. A good reason for some to sleep so early. A sleep address, we booked it down, because tomorrow is one week school holidays in Malaysia. This time we go for simple: a double room with shared bathroom. It will make us wonder ...

4x4 = 60

12. Judica eaten still eat fries

Our hotel room has no windows. We have in our journey has ever been had, I had forgotten just how difficult that is. No windows in the room you have no sense of time. This morning we were awake later than we thought. Koh Tao, I was usually around 8 hours without saying awake, but the clock already be here 10 hours before the shutters slammed.

Luckily we had today was not a whole plan. Main business, so we asked for us, a train ride to Penang Hill. So this morning, after a continental breakfast somewhere in the street, on towards the bus station.

Our hotel was told we should take bus 204, but once the bus arrived a man told us that the Rapid Penang bus 10 should be. He told us that the train to the mountain 800 meters high summit of Penang Hill to the end of the year out of the running and the only way is up now with a 4x4 jeep.

Whatever. We are pleased to boarded bus 10 and came after an hour (it was not far, but the bus was just long) at the Penang Botanical Gardens. There we met a bunch of really green jeeps complete with uniformed drivers. 60 ringgit for a return. That's pretty much a euro or 15, especially for a ride of 5 km. But after one hour by bus we wanted not immediately from the field to beat. Top So.

The ascent was very steep, up to 30%. Way we saw some monkeys against the railing, which were nice to play. At the top the view was initially rather foggy, but after a few minutes the clouds moved away and we had a great view of Georgetown. Atop the hill is also not much to do. There is a Hindu temple and a mosque. Furthermore, a few restaurants closed.

After an hour or so back down. Then another hour back by bus 10 (a drive of only 2 ringgit per person, incidentally) and on the way to the Penang State Museum. Of this we read that it was nice and well furnished. And that did not stop. The museum had a lot to read and see the different communities in Penang and Malaysia. Interesting and instructive.

For dinner, but returned to the food court where we ate last night though. This time no sushi, but what 'Western' food. Chicken with rice, a delicious sauce for fries and Judica some spaghetti for me. Very nice. But tomorrow we eat Malay, really!
