| 20 ° 15 'N, 105 ° 58' E 1 April 2010, 14:02 Sleeping out ... finally we rested a day. In recent days we had so much to do that the alarm at 7:00 meetal all went. Today there was nothing ... I was obviously already at half past seven wakkeer (grrr ... biological clock), but Michael has been given some extra sleep. There was not really on the program. Bags all packed again with clean laundry and hang on and wait. This morning we're both here in our uppie oppad gone. We travel another week with other people and really get time for yourself was not there. I rondgekuierd delicious, fresh pineapple met for breakfast, along the flooded, let me palpate because of white skin and heard at any store that they have nothing in my size or just plain laugh at me. In short, it was lovely to be alone. Just after noon we are back together somewhere for a drink and went in search of yet another tourist activity in the city. We arrived at a park with a mountain (you). No western tourist to see and just regular prices. The real Vietnam still taste better at places where people cards, drinking and eating. For the last time to our favorite "fried rice" restaurant to our bellies full of food. On the way home we were besieged by children of 4-6 years who all 'hello' to us wanted to say and wanted to shake our hand. Sometimes you feel like a celebrity when you walk around here. People laughing, waving, walking with children and females would sometimes like to compare their skin color. Actually hilarious. In the hotel we could actually have a shower, so now we sit behind the computer in the lobby omdathet wireless Neit to wait until we do so to another hotel where we walk in the bus. We have a great deal, $ 25 pp for an open bus ticket from here to Saigon, but then you go out. Tonight we ride in a sleeper (with only beds) to Hue. We can deliver the bags and afternoons around an hour or 1 we depart from there to Hoi An. Our Israeli friends are there today and flown await us in the hotel. Hoi An is a beach destination ... zouik finally able to dig out my bikini? Allez first ... but once that bag to carry the boarding place and then while the bus lulls me dreaming of an air mattress on the sea ...

The park itself was also better than expected, but the people were in this case for the nuisances. The original plan was to today with a van ride to the park and then walk about 3 kilometers to. The vans had to be hired and the walk was a guide, so we already had a dark suspicion that there could be complications. This morning we asked in detail about the possibilities. That is, our interpreter Lo. A minibus taxi was no problem and would be at 1 o'clock in the afternoon can arrive. A guide could be arranged for that time and the price seemed reasonable. Until then, what would we have to monkeys and turtles can have a look. It all sounded good. The monkeys were cute critters to be. They were - à la Pieterburen - collected and coached to return to a wild existence. In the shelter were all kinds of spider monkeys captured. Cute and nice to know that one is actively endeavoring to endangered species to catch. The turtles were a little slow this morning, but well worth the look. After a small donation we got some food to a few larger fish in the pond to perform. They had initially barweinig interest and really had a bit going to be helped. The food was almost literally float in their mouths, they wanted to bite. But then! Returning to the turtles dine well and we got a surprise. Although we booked this morning nothing had turned the taxi already waiting for us. That in itself would not have been a problem, if not we had previously decided to shoot the tour because of the weather and overall lethargy that had come over us. The cancellation of a taxi arrived already proved a great drama. There was almost an hour to talk about it, geruziet and discussed, both in English and in Vietnamese. The taxi driver wanted money, but for what? There was no service provided. Well, quite a fuss with the end (thanks to the resolute intervention of our Israeli friend) a taxi driver who with his tail between his legs dripping. Then what but walked. A puppy that we had already followed, took us deeper into the park. We called him and Trotsky have hugged him frequently. It was a bit lazy afternoon only by a climbing party to a watchtower a few drops of sweat appeared able to conjure. Not unpleasant, still beautiful. michiel Dewit | Tags: Monkey , Cuc Phuong , National Park , Vietnam Posted in Ninh Binh | No Comments » 20 ° 19 'N, 105 ° 37' E March 30, 2010, 17:38 As I write this I am sitting in our small wooden room in the park near Ninh Binh. For the first time we have mosquito nets and insect attack (haha, get acquainted with DEET). Around me I hear the crickets singing and feel that we really are in the jungle. We have just arrived after dark so I do not really have an idea of how it looks here. Tomorrow morning, let me surprise you. With our Israeli friends and the mixed British / Vietnamese couple we have been since this morning early. We have with his 6-and a rented car with driver (naja, the driver will hear for free and no way that we ride). We started with a boat trip through rice fields and caves. Then we would go to hot springs (the first chance to use my bikini) but ultimately we felt that we were dropped off. The price for the boat to the sources was 50 000 pp (2.5 euros) and access the resources again pp. 100000. It simply does not fit in our budget. We are left with the boat and had a lovely walk and have been to a cave. It was great to have a nice walk with all the rice fields. Along the way we came to what locals who grabbed my arm and were surprised at how white I was. My calves were felt when asked what I ate that I was as white and well fed. It's so weird but people look at me and think I'm beautiful because I look like they can not while we in the West like slim and brown . After the trip, the run to the park and the road stopped for a delicious meal. That fed me well will take some remain. Because we are 'in' had to write the last few days we did not have time to ordinary considerations, how it is here. How are the people? How is the landscape? And above all, Dutch, what's the weather? Vietnam is a beautiful country and its people are very friendly. We note only that in the places where foreign tourists, like today, that people there are very money hungry. They try to cheat but not necessarily doing their best to earn something. So today was our roeister busy to us her (very nice) embroidered handicrafts to sell. Where we were yesterday the boat was not the case. Actually, this leads to the conclusion that we as white tourists spoil the kindness and hospitality because they know they can earn something. We were frankly today and asked for a tip as much as we did yesterday, but she looked almost disappointed and found it clear enough. Yet the people warm, the locals like to submit contact, like our skin beautiful and would like to sit still and keep a comfortable distance. If they can, they will help but sometimes they just say "yes" if they do not understand (they do not want to lose face). The food in Vietnam is great, not at all sharp, super fresh (that chicken on your plate this morning was still around) and we have a few minor incidents, yet had no significant discomfort. The landscape is in a word, magnificent and quite unrecognizable, at least for me. The rice fields that are flooded are a stark contrast to the mountains that shoot up out of nowhere. The weather is so to good, moist, but not very warm. Perfect for a tip without being burned or runs continuously puffing. Actually, ideal if you do want to do something. They say it is warmer in the south and in Saigon just hot. We shall see. We entertain us both very well, the company, the trips, the landscape and population are surprising and endlessly entertaining. juutsel | Tags: boat , caves , nature , Vietnam , walking Posted in Ninh Binh | No Comments » 20 ° 15 'N, 105 ° 58' E March 29, 2010, 13:27 Yesterday afternoon we took our trip mates came back in Hanoi. The two Australian girls went to their hotel and the Israeli couple came with us and another couple NLse it. Rooms enough and after arrival, we first have perched on our roof for a delicious beer. It's funny, you meet people and pulls out a few days very intensively and that creates an instant bond. Not a band that never breaks, but we have seen along the Ha Long Bay. After everyone had been frost OPZ OEK we went to something "authenticity," to eat. It was a small stall where another Vietnamese guest ordered for us. That goes along the lines of "do only 2 chicken, 2 beef dishes, 1 dish pork, vegetables and rice. Most Vietnamese in Hanoi on the street seem to eat, it feels like it IIG. These are not restaurants but mini small plastic stools (if you're lucky a chair) and small plastic tables, all in children's size. The food came and the table was overloaded. So nice we had not eaten in Vietnam. Not sharp, spicy and delicious as varied. Smullen so. The rest of the avodn is spent on the rooftop to still to enjoy. This morning the alarm went off. We had booked a bus to Ninh Binh. A village two hours drive from Hanoi to the south which has a beautiful setting. We had paid $ 5 per person, here a decent amount so that we would go with a tour bus, the Israelis went along. Then comes a guy who our 'collecting' and says that we need the taxi steps that we go to the bus station and there for the bus tickets are purchased. Not what we had agreed, namely that tickets cost less than 2 euros per person. Our traveling companion as we say Nohar has her on her teeth and said clearly, no, if we continue with the tour bus or we get our money back. We zijnt eruggelopen to the hotel and have indicated that this was not the agreement. The manager of the tour bus company came later to help us, but we were of course all that business Sat The guys that we wanted to put on a taxi just had the tour booked full and we thought we could put on a bus and the rest of eht money into his own pocket to stabbing. All tour buses were by that time the city has been out. Uitiendelijk we have sought and received our money back. The guys from our hotel were so kind to help us arrange a reliable taxi to the bus station where we 45000 dong per person (less than 2 euros) itself bought tickets. Bus stations are not comparable, there are no buses with numbers or something. The destinations are indicated, but there is at what you should have. At the moment we walked out we were surrounded by people who wanted to get us into their bus, after half a lap around the park, we own a tipsy woman and her husband helped us. The bus was fine and within 2 hours we were in Ninh Binh. In the bus was another Englishman who temporarily lives with Vietnamese girlfriend on the way to Ninh Binh. So now we're back with 6 men and even have an interpreter . The rest of the day we had dinner and we are now just returned from a trip to a kind of National Nature Reserve where we rowed around 2 hours. Those women who have become heavy! It was a tourist attraction, but especially for the Vietnamese themselves. As we enter, we photographed 100 times. The trip run along high mountains and through various caves, it was ontettend nice and relaxing. At the end we still have a couple of times a rowing contest held with other boats and Nohar ... and I have been standing on the boat a "serenade" which brought the Vietnamese were quite the end. A delicious arrival in Ninh Binh and the prospect of dinner makes me so happy! juutsel | Tags: bus , Ninh Binh , rowing , Vietnam Posted in Ninh Binh | No Comments » | |
