How did we get this idea?
During a dinner with a friend the conversation turned to travel and where we dreamed of. Judica always had a once in a van to drive to India. A card bijgepakt and we have examined whether this is possible ... and then we start driving to Singapore. This was the original idea and we are then, in June 2008 started saving. The idea was to go to the end of 2009, had completed her studies as Judica.
Of course we check the feasibility and how much such a trip will cost? Ultimately, the idea of a van to go not feasible because of our lack of knowledge of cars, the cost of a good 4x4 bus and of course ... the Himalayas.
The most important aspect was that we would travel so much land you can experience the culture changes. We have a large world map and get bought even figured out where we both really like wanted to go. These included locations such as Japan, Alaska, Australia, Thailand and Peru. Then we have an itinerary and we see if it is to retrieve. Japan and Alaska unfortunately fell off because they are either too expensive or too far from the direction of layers. Thus, the final route established.
We look at the cost of train tickets, tickets, and so on and have a financial planning. It appeared that autumn 2009 was not feasible for the spring 2010 trip but did. As far back it would come so that we are nowhere in excessive heat or rains would sit. Furthermore, a rough plan made for the other things that need to be, insurance, housing, Subscriptions, invoices, visas, vaccinations, etc. It is especially very much savings.
One of the key points in our preparation was selling Michiels apartment in Dordrecht. The computer skills of Michael's sold the house without a broker. He just made himself a website and our Funda gesneakt 
. The house was sold within 6 weeks and subject to the price we wanted. This made it all easier. At the time this is being typed (end November 2009) we are in our temporary anti-cracking property in 's-Gravendeel.
How the plan is more like ... well, the main obstacles have been taken, now it's working and wait until February (and about 1000 line things, but that's good).
